Research of identity in students that receive second higher education

Abstract

The article substantiates the need to study the problem of identity and the conditions of its formation. Theoretically, the reasons for which a person receives a second higher education, one of which is experiencing a crisis of identity. The study of identity uses a personal approach, which is based on the laws of construction, functioning and development of personality and is a set of conceptual ideas, psychodiagnostic and developmental methods that contribute to the formation of a higher education mature identity. A structural model of subjective and crisis identity of applicants for higher education has been developed and substantiated. The content of the applicants receiving a second higher education subjective and crisis identity structural model of is that each component of the content-personal dimension makes a systematic contribution to the formation and experience of personal identity, personal and professional. It is determined that the central psychological mechanism of the reflexive process of identity is decentralization, due to which the individual finds his/her own, not imposed path of development, which is accompanied by a sense of personal and professional certainty, identity and integrity. The concept of subjective identity by substructures of personality is introduced; gained further development of ideas about the psychological conditions and means of developing the student’s identity. The results of subjective and crisis identity in applicants for second higher education and applicants receiving first higher education experimental study are presented. In particular, it was studied that only 50.01% of applicants who receive a second higher education have a personal identity and 38.8% - respectively, a professional identity. Identity status in the moratorium stage (state of identity crisis) was diagnosed in 33.33% of applicants for second higher education and 9.09% of applicants receiving first education. The structural model of subjective and crisis identity of applicants receiving a second higher education provides a basis for a productive search for preconditions and determinants as factors in overcoming the identity crisis and creating an adequate, even ideal, subjective and professional identity
