Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of the development of leadership qualities of future psychologists in the process of their professionalization under the conditions of a high school. The importance of career orientations of young people in the contex of continuous professional self-improvement is revealed. The importance of leadership as a component of the psychologist’s professional readiness to perform professional functions is analyzed. The peculiarities of the development of leadership qualities of student youth in the context of their ideas about the future path of professionalization are considered. The article presents the results of the research on the relationship between the career orientations of future psychologists and the specifics of their tendencies to implement leadership behavior. The main types of career orientations of future psychologists are analyzed. The types of ideas about the future career path of students, which are most closely related to the content of professional activity are determined. The content of career orientations of youth, which are formed mainly under the influence of external or internal factors, is highlighted. It is studied how these psychological formations determine the importance of leadership for the professional self-realization of an individual. Possible complications and obstacles to the development of leadership qualities in the educational process are outlined. Based on this, the features of the didactic and educational influence on the formation of the future professional’s personality are indicated for the purposeful development of leadership qualities for further self-improvement in professional activities
